Maleek Berry’s “Eko Miami” featuring Geko lands as track six on his 2016 EP Last Daze of Summer, later dropping as a standalone single. The title itself tells the story: “Eko” is the Yoruba name for Lagos, paired with Miami, two cities that share the same late-night, champagne-soaked energy.
Lyrically, Berry keeps things breezy. It’s a turn-up anthem built for either city, packed with nightlife imagery, girls, bottles, and a clear instruction to leave the wahala (drama) at the door. Geko’s verse leans further into that club atmosphere, matching Berry’s laid-back Afro-fusion production with his own UK rap flair.
The official video, directed by Tshiz Nelson and shot by JM Films, arrived in early 2017, wrapped in bright, animated visuals that match the song’s sunny mood. Produced entirely by Maleek Berry himself, “Eko Miami” remains one of the standout cuts from his breakout EP.
